Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information. Last updated August 2026.
Continent Homes (ABN 33 646 656 162) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We may collect the following personal information:
- Your name, email address, phone number and suburb, when you submit an enquiry form or contact us
- Details you choose to tell us about your project — your block, budget, timeframe and design preferences
- Correspondence between us, including emails, messages and notes from calls or meetings
- If you become a client, information needed to enter and perform a building contract, such as your address, identification and finance details
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health or biometric information) and we ask that you do not send it to us.
Information collected automatically
Our website may record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the site you came from. This is used to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
- To prepare quotes, designs, tender documents and building contracts
- To carry out building work and manage your project
- To meet our legal obligations, including under building, consumer, tax and work health and safety laws
- To improve our website and services, and — where you have agreed — to send you updates about our work
We will not use your information for a purpose unrelated to the one you gave it for, unless you would reasonably expect it or you have consented.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Trades, suppliers, draftspeople, engineers, surveyors and building surveyors engaged on your project
- Councils and authorities, where required for planning or building permits
- Our professional advisers, insurers and service providers, including the providers who host this website and our email
- Anyone else you ask us to, or where the law requires it
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our service providers may store data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires us to. Building records are generally kept for a number of years after completion because building law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed to remember your display preferences, such as light or dark mode and your chosen colour theme. These stay on your device and are not used to identify you. You can clear them in your browser at any time.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we refuse a request, we will explain why in writing.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
